HAPPY BIRTHDAY Gift Card Holder!

Here is another version of the GIFT CARD HOLDER I shared with you yesterday...I just turned the holder so it opens from the side instead of up and down.



Here is a view of the inside.


Start with a piece of 9" x 2-7/8" card stock.

Score at 3/4" & 5-1/8"


Use a bone folder to achieve nice and crisp folds.

Insert envelope
(I used a non-Stampin' Up! envelope purchased at a local craft store-2-1/2"x 4")

Staple flap and then embellish as desired.

TIP:  I covered the staple in back with DSP and in the front with ribbon.

Matchbox Gift Card Holder!

This is one of my favorite GIFT CARD HOLDERS to create...What I love about the design is that it will hold a 3 X 3 Mini Card and envelope AND a gift card.

And, it is super simple to create!


Step 1:  Start out with a piece of card stock, 8-1/4" x 3-1/2"

Step 2:  Score along the 8-1/4" edge @ 3-1/4", 3-1/2" & 7-1/4"

Step 3:  Using Scallop Edge Border Punch, punch at end closest to the 7-1/4" score line

Step 4:  Fold on score lines and staple 1/8" up from bottom of folded scallop to create flap.
Step 5:  Wrap ribbon around scallop flap to hide staple and embellish as desired

Hidden Journaling Card

I have a scrapbooking TIP for you today!

Sometimes when I am planning a scrapbook page I get carried away with photos and embellishments and forget to include a journaling block OR I might want to keep my journaling private.

My solution is to create a HIDDEN JOURNALING CARD.


Here is the card pull-tab on the finished scrapbook page...








The hidden card is SUPER SIMPLE to create.  I have included a video tutorial below.

This is the my first video tutorial, so be patient as I work on lighting, focus and quality issues.  I have recorded additional video tutorials and each one gets better...I will post when I have uploaded additional videos.

It's all about the MASK!

 It has been a long time since I used the "MASKING" technique on a project...Here is a card that showcases this technique.

I am providing step-by-step instructions for those of you who have never tried it or it has been awhile for you too.


"MASKING" allows you to stamp multiple images creating the illusion the one image is in the background of another image.

For example, the flowers/leaves image appears to be behind the bird...Here's how to accomplish this look:

STEP #1:

Stamp the image you want to mask on a Post-it Note making sure that a portion of the stamped image will pick up some of the sticky from the back when it is cut out. 

STEP #2:

Cut the image out and then stamp the image again on whatever card stock you plan to use for your project.

STEP #3:

Place the mask over the stamped image.  Now you are ready to stamp your background images.




STEP #4:

Remove the mask to reveal a wonderfully dimensional stamped image.

NOTE:  I save my "mask" in the stamp case for future use.

TIP:  I used a Sharpie Permanent Marker to color the pearls black...just leave them on the sleeve, color them and then apply to your project.

This is my version of an Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel holder.

Main:  10”x 2”
Score along 10” edge @ 1”, 2-1/4”, 5-1/2”, 6-3/4”
Stand:  5” x 1-3/4”
Score along 5” edge at:  1/2", 1-1/2”, 3-1/2”, 4-1/2”
Score along 1-3/4” edge 1/4" from each side
Cut off four corners to score lines

FOLLOW UP to PREVIOUS POSTS....

Hello!  I have returned home after a week of traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday.  I tried to post while I was away, however I wasn't able to share as much as I would have liked...So, I am playing catch up with today's post.

The first item I want to share with you today is some additional information regarding my "CUPCAKE" post.  CLICK HERE to view the original post...

In the previous post I shared my Rich Razzleberry version of this little cutie.

Here is my Holiday version which features Real Red card stock & grosgrain ribbons.

Here are a few tips:

1.  The 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon is 18" long before it is gathered.

2.  The 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon is 8" long before it is gathered.

3.  Use the Word Window Punch to created the hinge for the lid.

4.  Use the 2-1/2" Circle Punch to create the lid.  This punch is on page 19 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.
 
5.  Use hot glue to adhere the ribbons to each other and to the lid.

6.  To create the inside holder, just slip in a cupcake holder...The foil type work best because they are sturdier than the paper type.

Deck the Halls Holiday Gift Bag!

Welcome back for DAY 4 of the RemARKable Holiday Madness Blog Tour!

I am having so much fun sharing creative ideas with you AND checking out all of the wonderful projects on the tour!

Today I am sharing a holiday gift bag with you that features the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

I also used the new Mini Lunch Sacks and the Tags til Christmas stamp set.  You can find many of the products I used for this project in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Step 1:  Cut the 1-1/2" off the top of the lunch sack.
Step 2:  Fold the bottom flap of the lunch sack down to create a V at the bottom
Step 3:  Cut a piece of card stock 6-5/8" x 3-3/8" and score along the 6-5/8" edge at 1-1/2".  This is the back and front folding flap.
Step 4:  Cut a piece of card stock 5" x 3-3/8".  This is the front panel.
Step 5:  Punch holes just below the score line on the front panel as shown in the photo. 
Step 6:  Thread ribbon through holes and adhere to inside back panel before adhering the panel to the lunch sack.
Step 7:  Adhere the back panel to the sack making sure the score line is just above the top of the sack to allow the flap to fold down.
Step 8:  Adhere front panel to lunch sack.
Step 9:  Attached a Velcro dot to the underside of flap.
Step 10:  Embellish as desired.
