WEEKLY PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT...Stamp-a-ma-jig

I have had several inquiries recently about the Stamp-a-ma-jig by Stampin' Up!

So, I thought I would feature it in today's "Product Highlight."

The Stamp-a-ma-jig is a stamp positioner which will help with precise stamp alignment.  It has a nonskid base and includes a reusable, wipe-clean imaging sheet for easy placement.



  


 
Here are step by step instructions on how to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig:

STEP 1:  Ink image
STEP 2:  Place the image sheet corner into the corner of the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  Be sure the the side and top of image sheet is lined up against the edges of the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
STEP 3:  Stamp image onto image sheet.  Be sure that the side and top the block is against the side and top of Stamp-a-ma-jig as you are stamping the image.  
    
STEP 4:  Place image sheet over project and align stamped image where you would like to position it.  Now place the Stamp-a-ma-jig along the top and side edge of image sheet and then remove image sheet.  Be careful not to move the Stamp-a-ma-jig or your project.
STEP 5:  Now ink and stamp your image using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to guide the block as you are stamping. 

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp these bird cages on top of each other!

Weekly Product Highlight...Embosslits & Sizzlits!

Sometimes the smaller accessories for the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine can get overlooked.  So, today I am highlighting Sizzlits Dies and Embosslits Dies!

The Embosslits Dies can be found on page 215 of the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.

Embosslits are chemically etched dies which include positive and negative image for simultaneous cutting and embossing.  They cut both card stock and designer series paper.

The Sizzlit Dies are located on page 210 of the catalog.  These smaller dies are filled with fun shapes and letters and are perfect for cutting card stock and designer series paper.

NOTE:  Use Sizzlits & Embosslits with the Standard Cutting Pads and Multipurpose platform which are sold with the Big Shot Machine.

To use the Embosslits and Sizzlits Dies, first cut card stock or designer series paper to approximately 2-1/2" x 2-1/2".

Place paper on one side of embosslit and close or for Sizzlit, place paper on foam side of die.

Here is the Big Shot "sandwich" you will use for both embosslits and sizzlits:

Weekly Product Highlight...Crop-A-Dile

Don't be intimidated by the Crop-A-Dile's appearance--It's actually very simple to use!

Crop-A-Dile (108362)  Located on page 198 of the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog!

Features & Benefits
Silent eyelet setter and heavy-duty hole punch

Punches 3/16" and 1/8" holes

Top block includes:
3/16" eyelet setting spring-loaded post with concave setting surface

1/8" eyelet setting spring-loaded post with flat setting surface

Base block includes:
3/16" eyelet flare
Medium flare
1/8" eyelet flare
Conical multiuse flare

Made of hardened steel

Here are some guidelines on how to set a Jumbo Eyelet with the Crop-A-Dile:


Punch a hole with the 3/16" hole punch.

Place the Jumbo Eyelet into the hole by applying gentle pressure.

Now you are ready to set the eyelet.

The important part here is make sure that you have the correct setting, so I have included detailed instructions below:

Setting Eyelets

Before you set your eyelets, make sure the eyelet and Crop-A-Dile are both right-side up. The top of the eyelet must align with the top block; do not set the eyelet if the shank is touching the top block.

1. Punch the correct size hole for your eyelet.

2. Set the blocks on your Crop-A-Dile to the correct setting. (For 1/8" eyelets, use setting C3; for 3/16" eyelets, use setting A1. See your product packaging for more information.) Make sure the blocks snap into place.

One of the things I love about the Crop-A-Dile is its ability to punch through thick materials...Like punching through a Post-it note pad as shown here.

NOTE:  This is about 1/3 of the normal Post-it note pad.


Because the Crop-A-Dile is spring loaded, it punches through thick materials with ease!

 

The Crop-A-Dile Punches easily through card stock, chipboard, fabric, leather, and other thick materials.

NOTE: 
The hole punches have adjustable guides so you can set the depth that you want to punch holes, from 1/8" to 1" from the edge of your paper. Simply turn the screw on the hole punch to loosen the guide, slide the guide to the desired depth, and then tighten the screw.

Weekly Product Highlight...HEAT EMBOSSING TOOLS!

I LOVE to add heat embossed elements to my projects...So, today I am highlighting the tools that will help you get the best results when using the heat embossing technique.


1.  Heat Tool
2.  Embossing Buddy
3.  Embossing Powder
4.  Powder Pal
5.  Pigment Ink, such as Craft or VersaMark

Before you stamp the image you are going to emboss, be sure to rub across the card stock with the Embossing Buddy to reduce static.  NOTE:  This also works well when you will be applying glitter.
  
Once you have stamped the image with pigment ink, sprinkle embossing powder over it and tap off excess powder.




Heat the powder with a Heat tool.

Embossing is a fun and easy technique...I hope you will give it a try the next time you want to add some "WOW" to your stamping projects!

Weekly Product Highlight...Stampin' Up! Texturz Plates!

Would you like to add texture to your projects at an affordable price?

Weekly Product Highlight...Color Spritzer Tool!

Today's spotlight product is the
COLOR SPRITZER TOOL by Stampin' Up!

Are you ready to create an airbrushed look on your paper crafting projects?

This tool allows you to achieve spectacular effects...The tool mists the ink from a Stampin' Write Marker onto your project to create a spattered look.

The color spritzer is simple to use:

1.  Loosen the screw at the top and insert the brush tip end of a Stampin' Write Marker.

2.  Tighten the screw just enough to keep the tip of the marker firmly planted at the tip of the spritzer.

3.  Be sure to practice on scrap paper before spraying your project. 

TIP:  Adjust the position of the spritzer to change the look of the splatter.  The further away you hold the tool the more random the splatters will look.

For this "Thankful Thoughts of you" card I added a splattered look to the Crumb Cake background using the spritzer tool and the Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker.

Weekly Product Highlight...Stampin' Up! Rub-Ons!

I LOVE Stampin' Up! Rub-Onsbecause they are easy to apply and they coordinate beautifully with Stampin' Up! card stock and designer series paper!

There is a nice variety of Rub-Ons located on page 184 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog and some holiday options in the Holiday Mini Catalog.    

Today, I am highlighting the Spooky Night Rub-Ons located on page 8 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

These rub-ons have a metallic finish, so they will compliment all of your Halloween projects!

To apply a rub-on follow these steps:
Cut out the image from the sheet that you plan to rub on, keeping the backing in place.

You can apply rub-ons using the enclosed stick or a bone folder.

Peel the backing away from the image and place the image on the material you will be rubbing it on to.

Rub the entire image with the stick and begin to peel away the top layer as shown here...go slowly, if there is any part of the image not transferred you can place the top layer back down and continue to rub.

For my project today, I punched the rub-on image out with the Scallop Oval Punch.
You can add embellishments to Rub-Ons just as you would stamped images.

This card features the GREAT FRIEND stamp set from the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog.

I LOVE the butterfly image in this set...I added some Basic Pearls and popped it up on 1/2 of a Stampin' Dimensional.

The background was created with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder using the emboss resist technique to leave a smooth area for the greeting.

Weekly Product Highlight...Stampin' Write Markers!

Since I use my Stampin' Write Markers all of the time on my paper crafting projects, I wanted to tell you all about them and also share some tips on how to use them.

There are several options for you when purchasing markers...The first photo shows the Many Marvelous Markers as a set (38 markers in the four new color collections and In Colors) which includes the case.
