I created this RECORDABLE card for my son who is currently serving in Afghanistan...

This is his 6th deployment, so that means six holiday seasons away from home. 

My family and I are always trying to come up with creative ideas for the special Christmas box we send to him when he is deployed during the holidays. 

So, we decided that each of us would decorate a Stampin' Sound Card (121009) and record a special message to him and wrap them in individual boxes, so he has something special to open on Christmas Day! 

I know he will be thrilled to hear our voices and hopefully feel a bit closer to home.

If you have a loved one serving abroad during this holiday season, I would love to send a hand-stamped holiday greeting to him/her.  EMAIL ME the name and address and I will add them to my list.

Super Simple Masculine Gift Card Holder!

I created this gift card holder out of a Medium Naturals Ivory Envelope (107302).

Step #1:  Fold envelope in half.  Be sure to use the Bone Folder (102300) to get a really good crease.

Step #2:  Cut just the flap on the crease line.

Step #3:  Emboss just the flap using your choice of Embossing folder.

Step #4:  Adhere one side of flap...the other side will be where the gift card goes.
TIP:  Adhere ribbon underneath the front embellishment panel and wrap around and tie.

TIP:  I cut the ribbon in half lengthwise.  It will fray a bit on the edges, however this adds to the masculine theme of the holder.

Weekly Product Highlight...Stampin' Up! Texturz Plates!

TIP:  To achieve a more defined background, lightly mist card stock with water before placing on texturz plate.

Birthday Gift Box Featuring Stampin' Up! Newsprint Designer Series Paper!

I am on a roll lately with creating projects that work great for the men in my life!

Since this paper has a Basic Black & Very Vanilla color sceme it is very easy to pair  with another color or two of card stock without having to worry about color cooordination.
 
This box is super easy to create with the Box #2 bigz xl die & the Big Shot Die-Cutting machine.




You will need two sheets of 8-1/2" x 11" card stock & coordinating designer series paper.

Cut each piece of cardstock to 5-1/2" x 11" and then run through the Big Shot using the Box #2 die.

Tip:  Fold on all score lines using a bone folder except for the two score lines on the lid.











TIP:  Adhere designer series paper to the inside of the lids prior to assembly of the box.  I rounded the corners of this piece with the 3/16" Corner Punch.
 

 






TIP:  As shown here, place Sticky Strip on side flap & then assemble starting with the side flap & then tucking in the bottom flaps.




TIP:  Do not fold the lid of the boxes, this part becomes the handle.  Use sticky strip to adhere the back side of the box lids together.  

NOTE: To avoid undue strain on your Oval Punch I recommend that you punch the hole for the handle before adhering the two boxes together.
