Have you tried the 7-sided distressing tool in the Stampin' Up! Cutter Kit (106958)?

For this card, I used the distressing tool to rough up the edges of the card stock and designer series paper...It definitely creates a rustic look.

The Cutter Kit also includes: rotary cutter, perforating tool and a scoring tool.

Grateful Greetings Card X 2

I know we are still full swing into summer, however it's time to start thinking about fall cards and projects because it is just around the corner.

TIP:  Add texture to your cards by running the background piece through the Big Shot using one of the texture plates.

TIP:  Add dimension to your projects by stamping your image twice with various colors & then cut out a portion and adhere with dimensionals as shown here with the word "thanks."

Masculine Birthday Card

I don't know about you, but I find it challenging at times to come up with a masculine themed card.

When I saw the Newsprint Designer Series Paper in Stampin' Up!'s BRAND NEW 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog, I knew it would work perfect for my brother-in-law's birthday card.

I gave this card an even more masculine feel by distressing several elements:
I crumpled the designer series paper and then sanded it once it was attached to the card stock.

I frayed one end of the grosgrain ribbon using the tip of the paper-piercing tool.

I sanded the top of the silver brad to create a less shiny look.

I used the distressing tool from the cutter kit along the edges of several of the card stock pieces.

And, of course running several of the card stock pieces through the big shot using a texturz plate added to the distressed look.
