FIELD FLOWERS Birthday Card!

Tomorrow is my daughter's 23rd birthday...She loves flowers, so I thought I would share the card I created for her.

The FIELD FLOWERS stamp set featured on Page 120 of the Stampin’ Up!® 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog is such a versatile set...It works wonderful for vintage styles as well as bright colors.  The sky is the limit with this set!

Have you ever tried to create a SWING CARD?

When I was preparing for my FANCY FOLDS Class recently, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy creating this swing card was.

My first impression of a swing card was, "That looks complicated!"  But, it actuallly turned out to be fairly simple and it only took me a few minutes to create the base of the card...So, I knew it would work perfectly as a project for my class.


I will work on creating an actual tutorial, but in the mean time here are some basic instructions:

Start out with a piece of 6-3/4" x 5-1/2" card stock.

Line up at 2-3/4" and then score from 1-1/4" to the bottom and then score from 4-1/4" to 5-1/2" at top.

Move to 4" and repeat the above steps.

Turn card stock and line up at 4-1/4".  Cut up from 1-1/4" to score mark.  Then cut from 5-1/4" down to score mark.

Turn to long way and cut between score lines.
 

One of the unique things about this card is there is a greeting front panel and a back panel with plenty of room for a hand-written sentiment.

PETITE POCKET GIFT CARD HOLDER!

OK...I am totally hooked on the new PETITE POCKET Die located on Page 221 of the Stampin’ Up!® 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog.

I love that a GIFT CARD will tuck very nicely inside this cute little pocket.
 

The Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die is designed for use with the BIG SHOT.  You will also need the Extended Cutting Pads and if you want to achieve nice, crisp score lines, I recommend the Extended Premium Crease Pad, as well.

I created a belly band for this project, so the pocket is held together with the belly band and a Mini Clothespin holds the flap closed.

 



For the embellishment, I used the Raining Flowers stamp set with a bit of Just Add Cake Designer Paper, finish off with a few Mini Brads and you end up with a super, cute gift card holder!

Playing with the BLOSSOM BOX Die & JUST ADD CAKE Designer Paper

It's RAINING FLOWERS!

I was so excited to receive the RAINING FLOWERS stamp set at the Stampin’ Up!® Convention a few weeks ago!

I have had a ton of fun playing with this set....There are SOOOOO many possibilities and it is a Two-Step stamp set which adds wonderful shading opportunities.

PROJECT TIPS:

1.  Try our NEW Mini Brads to embellish the center of the flowers...I love these little cuties!  Use one or a bunch to add a bit of WOW to your projects.

2.  Did you notice the textured background?  I used the NEW Stripes Embossing Folder.  Run the card stock piece through the Big Shot in one direction and then turn and run through the opposite direction to create a subtle weaved texture.

3.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up some of the flowers for a dimensional look.

Matchbox Gift Card Holder!

This is one of my favorite GIFT CARD HOLDERS to create...What I love about the design is that it will hold a 3 X 3 Mini Card and envelope AND a gift card.

And, it is super simple to create!


Step 1:  Start out with a piece of card stock, 8-1/4" x 3-1/2"

Step 2:  Score along the 8-1/4" edge @ 3-1/4", 3-1/2" & 7-1/4"

Step 3:  Using Scallop Edge Border Punch, punch at end closest to the 7-1/4" score line

Step 4:  Fold on score lines and staple 1/8" up from bottom of folded scallop to create flap.
Step 5:  Wrap ribbon around scallop flap to hide staple and embellish as desired

Give This Color Combo a try...Peach Parfait & Chocolate Chip!

This is one of my favorite color combinations...Peach Parfait is one of the
